  • Student and Family Support Services Counseling Resources

    Judson ISD, in collaboration with the San Antonio Mobile Mental Wellness Collaborative, provides a school-based mental wellness program that addresses mental health, grief, substance abuse. Services include individual, group, family, grief, and substance-use counseling services for students enrolled in JISD, family members of students, and school personnel. 

    Referrals for counseling services can be made by your school counselor or social worker.  For information about the programs, contact Reynae Herrera, LCSW at (210) 945-5364.

    The San Antonio Mobile Mental Wellness Collaborative (SAMMWC) provides licensed clinicians who conduct an intake assessment to determine what services will be needed.

    Services are provided by one of the agencies below:

    • Clarity Child Guidance Center - general counseling for students ages 3-17
    • South Texas Bereavement Center - grief/bereavement counseling
    • Rise Recovery - substance use or recovery counseling
    • Endeavors - general counseling for students or adults

    Counseling services are also provided by Texas Child Access Through Telemedicine, Anew Family Counseling Center, Family Service Association Early Childhood Well-being Program.  

    Texas Child Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) provides short-term (typically 5-10 sessions) virtual mental health services that include medication management and counseling/therapy services.  If long-term services are needed after services are provided, TCHATT staff refer the student to another community provider or family insurance-based counselor.  Services are free and provided year-round.  Services are provided at campus either before or after school or during a non-core class.

    Anew Family Counseling Center provides counseling services for students with high suicide or homicide ideation and no access to or on a wait list for counseling services. Services are provided at campus either before or after school or during a non-core class. 

    Family Service Association - Early Childhood Well-Being Program (ECWP) This program provides support to PK-Kinder through classroom observations, student observations, individual and family counseling, staff and parent trainings.  Services are provided at school and at home.

    HOPE Youth Family Development - Provides individual or family counseling, parent youth skills training or case management services.  Services are provided at school.

    The City of San Antonio has done an excellent job providing resources for families who may be experiencing a difficult time.
