Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year! 

    Our goal is for all students to be in school every day.  However, we do understand that sometimes that is not possible. 

    If your child is sick and absent please send a parent or doctor note to your child's campus attendance office via email. 



      1. Help your child arrive at school on time, with everything they need from school supplies and completed homework.
      2. Being at school on time will help your child's chances to score well on tests throughout the year.
      3. Make sure your child has a balanced diet, exercises, and gets enough sleep, to help mentally and physically get them ready to learn.
      4. Only allow your child to stay home when they have an illness, or too sick to be comfortable at school.
      5. Send parent notes or Dr. notes with your child when returning back to school.
      6. You can monitor your child's attendance and grades through Parent Center.
      7. Read all information sent home by the school. 
      8. Be involved in your child's school life and school activities
      9. Help your child to improve their attendance with positive reinforcements. 
      10. Keep open communication with your child's teacher, principals, and counselors. 



      1. Set a routine: Make structure virtual learning like regular school.  Post a schedule to stay on track throughout the day.
      2. Create a designated workspace to help prepare your student for learning. Display work: writings. Drawings, and projects
      3. Review expectations from the teacher for virtual learning.  Engaging with the teacher on zoom will help your student stay connected
      4. Make sure your child takes stretch breaks and moves in-between zoom. Encourage self-regulation: Helps kids learn how to deal with their emotions
      5. Encourage self-kindness: help kids learn to think positive about themselves
      6. Make sure your child does their checkpoints in Canvas to gain credit for attendance.
      7. Give detailed praise: encourage a growth mindset, remind kids that it's not about being good or bad at something, but working toward getting better at it.
      8. Charge your device the night before. Keep all other electronic devices off to reduce distractions
      9. Keep open communication with your child's teacher, principal, and counselors. Read all information sent home by the school.
      10. If your student is struggling, reach out to the teacher for assistance.  After school tutoring might be an option.
