Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Stuckey

My name is Jason Stuckey and I am the music specialist at The Fine Arts Academy at Olympia.

I am a native of San Antonio, TX and Judson ISD.  I have been involved in music for many years and continue to enjoy every minute.  I started my musical journey in the beginning band at Kirby Jr. High right here in Judson ISD.  Music continued through high school at Judson High School as I participated in the marching and concert bands.  Upon graduation, I attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX.  I participated in the Wind Ensemble, The Lumberjack Marching band and the Roarin' Buzzsaw pep band for the basketball games during my time at SFASU.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Music and began teaching music at Woodlake Elementary School in the fall of 2001.  I spent 21 years at Woodlake prior to joining The Fine Arts Academy at Olympia in the fall of 2022.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, building instruments, and spending time outdoors.  My immediate as well as extended family is very musical; my wife and 2 sons all play musical instruments and we cannot wait to learn what instrument my daughter will be playing in the future.

At my prior school I had the opportunity to share music with the students in a variety of ways.  Through general music in the classroom, the campus honor choir, drum ensembles and musical productions, the students always seemed to enjoy having music class as a special class.  I hope that by sharing music, the students will learn that music is not only something you can learn and experience in the classroom, but is something they can carry with them their entire life.  Music gave me a second family, a place where I always belonged.  I am looking forward to all the ways that the students and I can continue to share music with one another at The Fine Arts Academy at Olympia.
