Mr. McBurnett graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1995. After attending Texas A&M University and The University of Texas at San Antonio for a few years he dropped out of college to pursue a career. Mr. McBurnett returned to UTSA and graduated with a degree in History with a Teaching Certificate in 2014. This is Mr. McBurnett's 9th year teaching; eight years at Veterans Memorial High School and one year at Judson High School.

He is married and is the father to two cats, two dogs, and an ever-changing variety of fish.
