Mr. Kennedy

Welcome Mustang family to the 2020-2021 school year at Metzger Middle School! My name is Mr. Kennedy, and I look forward to having an exciting school year.  This year our theme will be stronger together. We are stronger together than we are alone. When we learn, being together helps us bring out our creative side. Always remember team work begins and ends with trust. I look forward to having a prosperous school year as we all learn how to implement virtual technology into the Judson Independant School District.

A little information about me.  I graduated from Judson Senior High School in 2001, where I played basketball.  I went to Hampton University for college with my focus on a degree in Nursing, while going to school on an Army scholarship.  In 2012 I went back to school at Strayer University and got another degree in Computer Forensics. I moved back to San Antonio, in July of 2015. December 2017 I completed my masters degree in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Cyber Security.  I took a position as a paraprofessional in JISD while I obtained my certification to teach for the district.  I have a wonderful wife and five children. 4 boys and 1 girl.

I love being a teacher. This school year will be my 4th year as a teacher.  When I was a nurse in the emergency room I would try to understand children as I worked in a Children's Emergency Room.  I decided to do a career change when I moved back home to Texas from Washington DC. I am eager to work and like to try and get all my students involved. That does require different strategies as every student is different. Also I'm currently a coach at the campus and I love working with our students and helping them develop and work on skill sets for school sports that can help those who want to be athletics.
