My name is Charletra Taylor. I have been teaching for over 20 years and have started teaching at JECA since its opening. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Pre-med and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Education from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. I also have more than 18 graduate credit hours in Multidisciplinary Sciences, focusing on chemistry education from the University of Incarnate Word. 

As your student’s chemistry teacher this year, I will continue to work hard to ensure they receive a high-quality education.  However, I will need the full support of parent(s) and students if we are to continue this tradition of high standards, expectations, and achievement.  Your active involvement and cooperation are essential to your child’s success in chemistry. After all, “it takes a village to raise a child!”
