Mrs. Jessica Mayfield

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Mayfield's Life Skills classroom!  This will be my 17th year in education. I spent 7 years working as a paraprofessional in special education, 6 years as a Behavior Academics classroom teacher, and this will be my 4th year teaching in the Life Skills classroom. I joined the Judson ISD family as an Escondido Lion about 5 years ago. I love teaching and watching little minds shape and grow into little readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, ect. One of my favorite things in the whole world is when the light bulb turns on and a student gets it!

I graduated from Texas A&M University San Antonio with my Bachelor's degree in Special Education. Go Jaguars! I also obtained a Master's degree in Special Education with an emphasis on Autism and Behavior in 2018. I am certified in Generalist EC-6, Special Education, and ESL.  I have learned so much working with students and families and I look forward to learning more during this school year.

I was born in San Antonio but raised in Massachusetts. I came back home to Texas 15 years ago and have loved every minute of it! I am blessed to have an amazing husband and 4 children of my own at home; 2 boys and 2 girls. They keep us very busy and very happy!

I can't wait to get this new year started. We have so much to learn in Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Social Skills, and Life Skills. I believe in working together as a team: students, parents, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, administration, and myself to help your child achieve their true potential. I look forward to a great year working together for the benefit of our children! Thank you in advance for a great year!
