Mr. Stanley A. Moody
Director of Choirs
Stanley A. Moody, director of choirs, holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at San Antonio. His principal teachers include Dr. Gary Mabry, Dr. John Silantien, and Dr. Jerry McCoy. Prior to his appointment to Veterans Memorial High School, Mr. Moody held positions as Head Choir Director of Juan Seguin High School and Assistant Choral Director at James Bowie High School in Arlington, Tx. Prior to his employment in Arlington ISD, Mr. Moody was the Head Choral Director at New Braunfels Middle School and Oak Run Middle School in New Braunfels, Tx. Mr. Moody has also served as Associate Artistic Director of the Alamo City Men's Choral, Director of Music at Northwood Presbyterian Church, and Director of Music at Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church. Choirs under his direction are consistent recipients of UIL Sweepstakes awards and have been recognized as "Best In Class" in regional and national performance festivals. Mr. Moody occasionally serves as a guest clinician & judge throughout the State of Texas. In addition to teaching and conducting, Mr. Moody sings professionally on staff at Saint Marks Episcopal Church and with San Antonio's Premere Tenor/Bass ensemble "ILLUMEN". Moody has also sung professionally with the Lyric Opera of San Antonio, Saint Marks Episcopal Church in San Antonio, the Dallas Chamber Choir, and most recently with the Dallas Symphony Chorus under the direction of Dr. Joshua Habermann. Mr. Moody maintains active memberships in the Texas Music Educator's Association, the Texas Choral Director's Association, and the American Choral Director's Association. Mr. Moody spends his free time with family and friends enjoying the scenery of the Texas hill country, hiking, and astrophotography.
