Mrs. A. Salinas

Hi! My name is Mrs. Salinas, and I am an English Language Arts & Reading (ELAR) Teacher at Metzger Middle School. This year, I was assigned two grade levels to teach: Grades 6 & 7.  While I am new to Metzger MS, I am thrilled to be a new part of Judson ISD, and moreover, a Metzger Mustang!

In case you're curious, this is my 10TH YEAR of being an Educator! I am quite experienced, ranging from 6TH Grade ELAR thru College Board Advanced Placement English Language & Composition/Literature courses, which are college-level courses taken in a High School setting.  In addition to this, I have received professional development trainings in working with students who may have 504, Special Education, and English as a Second Language accommodations.  In summation, my main priority is that I am here for the success our Students.

I also share something in common with my Students: I am a student learner, as well.  Not only am I teaching this year, but I am also juggling my own higher education. I am an Educational Doctoral (Ed. D.) student with Indiana University-Bloomington online. At night, I get my studying done, and I use Canvas as a learning platform, as well.

As you can tell, we have a lot in common already.  I can't wait to work along side Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and their students as they journey through this challenging albeit amazingly glorious world of books, writing, and knowledge!
