Hello and Welcome, 

I am looking forward to meeting each of you and having a wonderful year at JSTEM Academy. This is my second year teaching at JSTEM and my 19th year teaching middle school math. I am incredibly excited to be teaching in a more hands-on and project based environment and am looking forward to future years with the program.

I grew up in the Navy, so I have lived up and down the east coast, but have been in Texas since 1996. I graduated with a Masters of Science in Mathematics from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and taught in Corpus until I moved to San Antonio last summer to teach in the JSTEM program.    

Algebra is a high school credit class, so when the students pass the EOC at the end of the year, they will get credit and will not have to take a STAAR based math class in high school. My class can be fast paced at times so I encourage students to attend my tutoring whenever they need help, whether its for 5 minutes or for an hour.
