Welcome our New District Leaders
Sharon Balderas,
Principal Spring Meadows Elementary
Mrs. Balderas’s journey in education began in 2002 when she joined the Judson ISD family. For the past 18 years, she has served students in the Judson community from the Pre-Kindergarten class to the Early College Academy working in elementary, middle school and high school. She has also spent time as a specialist in the Judson ISD Curriculum and Instruction Department providing support to many Judson teachers. Most recently, she served as the principal at Park Village Elementary, where she led efforts for a school redesign which brands the school as the Park Village Blended Learning Academy, an innovative program that incorporates a purposeful variety of instructional methods based on student needs. She is a servant leader and believes that every child deserves every opportunity to receive the very best education. She works hard to build relationships so that the community can work together toward improving outcomes for all students. As the new leader to Spring Meadows, she will continue to serve the students, partner with her community and support her staff to ensure academic excellence.
Dr. Paula Johnson,
Chief of Equity and Diversity
Dr. Johnson’s 27 years of service in education centers on improving equitable student outcomes and success opportunities for all students. She has served Texas public school systems as a high school teacher, department chair, academic coach, district curriculum specialist. Over the last 12 years, Dr. Johnson continued developing her expertise as a senior education associate for the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA) here in San Antonio. Dr. Johnson has proudly served as director of the IDRA EAC-South for the last 4 years. She led efforts to build bridges among administrators, teachers, parents, students and community members so that all stakeholders can find that common higher ground where all students will benefit regardless of race, sex or national origin. In addition to her secondary teaching experience, she has held adjunct positions at UTSA and is currently an adjunct mathematics instructor at Prairie View A&M University.
Susaye Scott,
Principal Park Village Blended Learning Academy
Mrs. Scott began her career teaching with Judson ISD as an elementary teacher at Coronado Village. Her natural ability to lead brought her to broaden her role as an educator and serve as an RTI Facilitator, and then an Academic Dean. She grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received her undergraduate degree from Lakeland University in Education. She then earned her Master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis on mental health in the community. Wanting to meet the needs of all students, she continued her learning journey with Walden University and pursued a certification in Special education. Mrs. Scott’s love for learning and growing made her an excellent candidate for the Judson Principal Preparation Program that she successfully completed. That learning solidified her views on leadership- that a collaborative school environment is the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes partnerships with parents and the community are essential to enriching the school experience. During her free time, she enjoys crafting and spending time with family and friends.
Dawn Worley,
Director of Advanced Programs
Mrs. Worley has spent her entire career in the field of education, with the last 20 years in Judson ISD as an administrator in both elementary and secondary. She started the JSTEM Academy in its first year and eventually took on the role as principal of both the JSTEM Academy and Judson Middle School. She has led work in order to increase student enrollment in advanced academics and bring additional career and technology courses to Judson MS. She, with her dedicated staff, is proud of their students’ progress in both academia and extra-curriculars. Ms. Worley strongly advocates for advanced programs and the importance of starting this pathway early to create significant opportunities for students as they move through their K-12 education. She is passionate about helping all students reach potentials they may not always see in themselves. Mrs. Worley is a recent graduate of the Holdsworth Center, a leadership development program that focuses on improving the quality of public education for Texas students. Mrs. Worley is beyond excited to bring support to the Office of Innovation, existing programs, teachers, and most importantly our students.
